The importance of sample preparation for subsequent analysis is clearly explained and ways of eliminating potential sources of error are highlighted. Useful tips on selecting the right crusher or mill, the optimum accessories and the importance of correctly set parameters are explained. Other topics: Why do samples need to be homogenized and what needs to be considered during preparation? How do different comminution principles affect different samples?
Afterwards, we will show you our crushers and mills on site, which you can use to have your samples comminuted.

Dr. Tanja Butt, Product Manager RETSCH
Modern combustion analysis primarily involves 'light' elements (C, H, N, O and S), which can only be quantitatively determined to a limited extent using XRF. The presentation will show typical applications of elemental analyzers with selected examples. Further topics: How elemental analysis works / combustion analysis in distinction to XRF / application examples
Referent
Wilhelm Zimmermann, ELTRA GmbH
A brief overview of the operation and possibilities of XRF analysis is given. How powder samples and press tablets are analyzed. With some practical examples we show problems and possible solutions for a better sample preparation and analysis. A large number of German and international standards describe XRF as an analytical method. This lecture is intended to give an overview of some standards and to provide information on what significance they have for the practical use of the analytical method.
